VietNamNet Bridge – Seven years after her coronation, Thuy Lam will hand over her crown to the new beauty queen in the finale of Miss Universe Vietnam pageant, which will take place this August in Nha Trang City.

Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 will be held from April 2 to August 8. The semifinals and finals will take place in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province, at the Crown Convention Center with over 7,500 seats where Miss Universe 2008 contest was held. This stage has modern equipment, built according to standards of the Miss Universe organization.
This is the first beauty contest of 2015 licenced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
This year’s competition will begin receiving applications from April 2 to late May. This is considered a cultural event to promote tourism in Khanh Hoa Province in particular and Vietnam in general. Khanh Hoa has hosted many beauty contests and major cultural events.

Miss Universe Vietnam was held for the first time in 2008. Singer Thuy Lam, 21, passed many potential candidates as models Hoang Yen, Khanh Ngoc, Ha Anh and Duong Truong Thien Ly to become the owner of the crown worth $12,000. She represented Vietnam to attend Miss Universe 2008 and reached the top 15.
The Miss Universe beauty contest was held for the first time in 1952 in the US. It then crossed the US border and became one of the biggest beauty pageants in the world. Each year, the Miss Universe pageant has contestants from 100 countries and it is watched by more than a billion viewers worldwide.
