Exhibition of Vietnamese cultural history opens in museum



The exhibition “History –Culture of Vietnam” was opened in the museum at 216 Tran Quang Khai Street in Hanoi .


These documents and photos focus on 6 themes including the country in the prehistoric times, the country in the founding times ( in Hung kings), the country in the time of struggling for the nation’s freedom, Vietnam in the period of building socialist republic and Vietnam preserving and developing the nation’s cultural inheritance.


For thousand years, forefathers have created a huge cultural treasure which becomes a firm spiritual foundation for the society. The exhibition displays the continuous flow of Vietnamese culture history from the period of Home Erectus whose date is around 500,000 years ago ( archeologists have found the trace of the period of Home Erectus in cave Tham Khuyen and Tham Hai in the mountainous northern province of Lang Son.) .


These items are evidence to prove that Vietnam is one of human cradles in the Southeast Asian.


The exhibition aims to educate patriotic love and national pride as well as nurture the spirit of freedom and the nation"s integrity. Additionally, the event is to promote special cultural values of many groups living in the country. This is part of activities to mark two important events: August Revolution Day and National Day (September 2).


On September 1, an exhibition themed “ Uncle Ho and the South- the South and Uncle Ho” opened in the Ho Chi Minh Museum in the central province of Thua Thien- Hue. The event exhibited 350 documents, photos and items centering on the theme. It will run till October 5.
