Hanoi gets helicopter taxi service

Flights to popular sites such as Halong Bay (Quang Ninhprovince), Sapa (Lao Cai province), Trang An and Bai Dinh (Ninh Binhprovince), and Mai Chau and the Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Plant (Hoa Binhprovince), at $2,640 an hour for a group of six to seven people.

This isthe first time a commercial helicopter service has been introduced inVietnam’s tourism sector, where it was previously limited to the oil andgas industry, according to the company.

Last August, private carrierHai Au Aviation launched a seaplane service between Hanoi and HalongBay, charging each passenger VND5 million ($235) for the 25-minuteflight.
