Traditional operas to be staged

Three famous Vietnamese cheo (traditional opera) plays will be staged inSeptember as part of an art tour named Tieng Trong Cheo (The Sound ofCheo Drum), created by the project Toi Xe Dich (I Move) – a culturalmedia project aimed at encouraging young people to understand and bemore involved with traditional art forms.

The tour will open with the performance of the play Quan AmThi Kinh on Saturday, September 5. The play will be staged at the ThapCommunal House in Dich Vong, Cau Giay District.

The Luu Binh Duong Le drama will be presented on September12 at Tu Lien Communal House on Au Co Street, Tay Ho District, while theKim Nham play will be performed at Xuan Tao Communal House in XuanDinh, North Tu Liem District.

The performances are non-profitable event and are beingsupported by community funds from the participants. Performers areartists from the Viet Nam Cheo Theatre.
