Vietnam international book exhibition opens in Hanoi

Over 100 domestic and foreign publishers are showcasing their productsat 200 stalls during the 5th Vietnam International Book Fair, whichkicked off at Thong Nhat Park, Hanoi on September 10.

The exhibition space is arranged to display more than 3,000 publicationsfeaturing Vietnam’s development and integration process, the country’sachievements after 30 years of Doi Moi (reform) as well as worksintroducing other countries in Southeast Asia.

This year’s exhibition will encompass around 30 events, includingintroductions to the latest publications, promotions of proprietaryright exchanges, publishing cooperation, conferences, talks andintroductions of Vietnamese tangible and intangible heritages, amongothers.

Products from some 20 prestigious publishers are being showcased at the fair.

Deputy Minister of the Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuansaid that the event creates an opportunity to popularise Vietnam and thecountry’s outstanding successes to international friends whileexpanding international cooperation in publishing activities.

The fair has been held twice annually since 2013 with the aim to fosterthe joy of reading, boosting book copyright transactions andinternational cooperation in the field.
