VietNamNet Concert 2015 in pictures


VietNamNet’snational concert Dieu Con Mai (Things Everlasting) took place successully at the Hanoi Opera House on the National Day afternoon (September 2)

The concert was attended many government and state leaders, including Politbureau member, National Assembly Vice Chair Tong Thi Phong, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son, high-ranking officials from ministries and central agencies and foreign diplomats in Hanoi.


Theone-and-a-half-hour concert started with Vietnam’s national anthem,performed by the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) under the baton of noted conductor Le Phi Phi, whocurrently works in Macedonia.


Also, conductor Phi and hisorchestra accompanied a choir performing the song To Quoc(Motherland) by Ho Bac, with singer Trong Tan as the choir’spresenter.


Soprano Ha Pham Thang Long and baritoneManh Dung joined the choir to perform the song Vinh Quang Hon Dan Toc(Glorious Nation) by Do Hong Quan.


Long also presented thearia Co Sao (Miss Sao) composed by composer Do Nhuan. Written in 1963,the patriotic opera was the first to be performed with Vietnamesepatriotic music.


Singers Tung Duong, Dang Duong, and Lan Anh performed the song Tieng Hat Giua Rung Pac Bo (The Vocal in Pac Bo Jungle)by Nguyen Tai Tue, Chiec Khan Pieu (Pieu Scarf) by Doan Nho, Nguoi LaiDo Tren Song Pa Ko (Ferryman on Pa Ko River) by Cam Phong, and Bam BienQue Huong (Stay with Homeland’s Sea) by Pham Tuyen.


Also, accompanied by the VNSO, violinist Xuan Huy played the work Bai Ca Chung Thuy (Song of the Loyalty) by Hoang Duong.


TheVNSO later presented an extract entitled Dien Bien Phu on the Airfrom the symphony December by composer Tran Manh Hung, as well as theVietnamese folk tune Cay Truc Xinh (Little Bamboo Tree).


The concert was broadcast live on VTC1 channel.


“Things Everlasting” concert, launched in 2009 by VietNamNet newspaper, takes place every Independence Day at the Hanoi Opera House.


With an aim to popularise Vietnamese symphonies and chamber music – particularly those highlighting the country’s construction, defence and Doi Moi (Renewal) process – and inspire patriotism among Vietnamese citizens, the concert has become one of the most anticipated musical events of the occasion.


This year’s concert has been elevated to a national-scale event with the Ministry of Information and Communications acting as the steering committee and Minister Son as head of the committee.
