Hop-on hop-off bus service for tourists launched in HCMC

A company in Ho Chi Minh City has launched its own version of hop-on hop-off buses that are very popular in many destinations around the world.

The service is expected to officially begin next month after a short trial run, offering tourists daily tours through top attractions in the city at around US$9, Nguyen Khoa Luan, manager of Anh Viet Media TV & Tourist Co., the operator, told Thanh Nien News on Wednesday.

About 20-24 buses operate between 8 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. every day and go through 13 stations including the backpack area, Ben Thanh Market in District 1, and Cho Lon (dubbed as China Town) in District 5.

Each bus has a capacity of 35-45 passengers and tourists can learn more about each of the attractions in multiple languages via headphones, Luan said.

At the price of VND200,000, tourists can take a bus to any place they want within 24 hours, he said, adding that buses come to each station every 30 minutes.

Tourists can buy tickets online at the website www.hopon-hopoff.vn or at 275F Pham Ngu Lao Street, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1.
