Claude Monet would have been inspired by this beautiful scene.
The Yen Stream in Hanoi’s My Duc District, around 60 km from the city’s downtown, looks stunning this time of the year as water lilies are blooming.
The stream is part of the Huong (Perfume) Pagoda, a vast complex of Buddhist temples and shrines built into the limestone Huong Tich mountains and the site of a religious festival which draws large numbers of pilgrims from across Vietnam every year.
There is nothing better than sitting on a small boat down the stream to feel the autumn’s gentle morning sun and watch beautiful water lilies on the clear, tranquil water surface.
