At a press conference, the municipal Department of External Relations revealed that the festival would include a range of activities such as an exhibition on the city’s diplomatic activities, a show of traditional costumes from different regions and a gastronomy pavilion hosted by foreign communities.

Accordingly, themed “Ho Chi Minh City – Development and Integration”, the event is expected to draw representatives from diplomatic agencies, international organisations, joint-ventures, foreign-invested businesses, overseas tourists and students. It will also entail a special art performance, a Vietnamese cooking contest, a costume contest and cultural pavilions featuring unique cultural and traditional products from 16 countries.

Sixteen countries will participate in the four-day Ho Chi Minh City – Development and Integration, which, targeted at foreigners living in the city, will offer an opportunity for Vietnamese and foreigners to showcase their cultural identities.

The celebration of culture will feature music shows, costume shows, a food fair, folk games, performances of traditional martial arts, and much more. More than 500,000 foreigners live, study and work in the city, which also receives 4.5 million international visitors every year.

The festival “ Ho Chi Minh City – Development and Integration” is a brilliant chance for the Ho Chi Minh City to introduce the cultural diversity of Viet Nam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular to the international community. The festival also is an activitiy to promote friendship and solidarity between nations. It is a good opportunity for international community to show cultural identity of Viet Nam.

Ho Chi Minh City is set to celebrate the third annual festival highlighting its international integration, development and culture.

The festival opens at 23/9 Park on September 10, 2015.
