A cold spell will hit northern Vietnam on Friday afternoon, according to the National Hydrometeorological Forecast Center.
The mountainous areas will be the first to be hit, with temperature forecast to drop sharply by 5-7 degrees Celsius to 13-15 degrees Celsius.
Sa Pa in Lao Cai Province and Mau Son in Lang Son Province, two popular tourist spots, may see temperature fall to 10-12 degrees Celsius.
The temperature of the lowlands is forecast to range from 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.
According to the center, the cold spell will also bring rains to northern and central regions, especially thunderstorms in the central Vietnam.
