Free A O Show for needy children

HCMC-based Square Group that is running the popular A O Show will join hands with the city performance organizing center to host two A O Show performances to serve poor children with good academic records at the Opera House in District 1 at 3 p.m. on June 6 and 7.

A O Show is a unique performing art which is globally known as new circus. Audiences to the show will enjoy creative stage and lighting installations to highlight the beauty of Vietnam’s villages, such as surging dunes in the central coast region, peaceful lotus ponds in the Mekong Delta and bustling life in urban cities.

The chastity of bamboo, basket boat and its use in the daily life of many Vietnamese are leading visuals for the show. The show has no script, no climax and no sequence. During the 60 minutes of the show, audiences are gently introduced to many different tones of emotion.

The show was created by a group of artists, including Vietnamese German director Tuan Le, Vietnamese French musician Nguyen Nhat Ly, Vietnamese French circus training director Nguyen Lan Maurice and Vietnamese choreographer Nguyen Tan Loc.

Starting from this month, A O Show will start its European tour until 2017. “Lang toi” (My Village) and “Suong som” (The Mist) will replace A O Show at the Opera House.
