Health declaration called off for travellers from RoK

 

The compulsory filling of a health declaration form fortravellers coming from South Korea had been initiated from June 3 by theVietnamese government as a precaution against the spread of the MERS(Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) virus into the country.

Travellers from Middle East countries affected by the MERSvirus are still required to fill out the health forms before beingallowed to enter.

Since May 20, when the first patient tested positive for thevirus, it spread rapidly over South Korea, killing 36 people andinfecting 186.

On July 28, the South Korean government declared a de factoend to the MERS outbreak after no new cases were reported in the twoweeks prior to that.
