Dong Ha village in Thuan Thanh district in Bac Ninh province is now bustling as the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, the day for wondering souls,  is coming.

Other home appliances such as televisions, refrigerators, and clothes made of paper are also ordered in large volumes.


 


A family specializes in manufacturing paper cars such as Camry, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, and Rolls Royce.



When customers are no longer excited with ordinary clothes, a household in the village launches fashion products of well-known brands. “These are items with Victoria’s Secret and Triumph brands, not ordinary products,” a young worker said.


 


Shoes for men are also more diverse than the previous year.



Paper handbags are priced from VND30,000 to VND50,000/item.


 


Mr. Chien, a votive product producer, said “Any request of customers is satisfied. We get designs from the Internet. Just yesterday I delivered a real-size piano priced VND1 million ($50) and an unmanned plane priced VND200,000.”


 


After the tablet or smartphone are no longer new, Dong Ha village produced real-sized IT products like these Macbook Pro laptops.


 


This year, the market for the afterlife also has wheelchairs.


 


A set of family goods including a cabinet, a bed, a television, an air conditioning, kitchenware is priced at only VND60,000 ($3).

Mr. Khanh, the owner of a votive enterprise, said burning votives was a waste, but this job had brought income to farmers like him.
