Two Higashikawa Int’l Photo awards for Vietnam

Vietnam has carried off two awards (one for organisations and the other for individual) at the Higashikawa International Photo Festival taking place in Japan from August 4-10.

The Vietnamese team – Thang Long – includes three members: Nguyen Khac Hieu,  a 9th grade student from Ecopark Doan Thi Diem School, Nguyen Ba Hoang Minh, a 11th grade student from the Foreign Language Specialized School (FLSS) under the National University and a To Quang Minh, a 12th grade student from FLSS under the Hanoi National University of Education.

The festival attracted 13 teams from 10 countries and territories, including China, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia, Canada, Latvia, Uzbekistan and the host country – Japan.

Participants vied at three marathon photo contests for three consecutive days in three category- landscape, daily life and festivities.

Flea Market to host two dance contests next week

Budding dancers will have the opportunity to show off their talent at C34 tournament comprising a breakdance contest and another for Kpop cover dance hosted by 3 Tu Flea Market in HCMC’s Tan Binh District on August 15-16 from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This is a playground for young dancers and dance enthusiasts. It is expected that 50 teams would compete in 100 events in the qualifying round of the breakdance contest on August 15 while twenty teams would compete in the Kpop cover dance competition on August 16.

A judging panel consisting of talented dancers from popular crews in town, including Silver Fox (BBoys), Young T (Game on Crew), and Hieu Technicz (Freestyle Crew) will help find out winners of the two contests.
