Some of them are even less than 2 m2 in area, just enough for one person to lie down. This is the 2.5 m2 house on Nguyen Van Huyen Road. ![]() As the house is too small, it is used as a warehouse. ![]() Not far away from this house, an ill-shaped house of about 10 m2 is built by iron sheets on a triangular plot of land. ![]() The owner, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, said after her land was revoked to build the road, her house is now only 10 sq.m and it has no toilet or bathroom. ![]() On Nguyen Van Huyen Road, one can also see many super-small houses, with 2m long and less than 30cm wide. A man recently offered for sale a wall of over 1m long at the price of VND1 billion ($48,000). ![]() In Van Bao alley in Ba Dinh District, there are many odd houses, which has the floor area of less than 5 m2, but has up to 4 storeys. ![]() These homes have all functional rooms like the toilet, kitchen, and bedroom. ![]() A mobile stair is used to move between storeys. ![]() A local said these houses were built on the land left after their homes were revoked to build road. ![]() ![]() According to Hanoi authorities, there are nearly 600 super-thin and oddly shaped houses in the city. |
