The event will feature the images of lotus in daily lives in the countryside and highlight the spiritual lives, medical treatment, and artworks of Vietnamese people.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a number of traditional dishes made of lotus and take part in entertainment activities such as painting lotus on ao dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress), making lotus flowers from cloth and paper, and lotus lanterns, and holding traditional games.
The event also has an area for presenting the culture of Dong Thap Province in the Mekong Delta, which is considered the cradle of lotus in the south.
With ten stalls, the exhibition will feature special products of Dong Thap and photos about cultural activities in the province. Visitors can also taste lotus tea and enjoy don ca tai tu (southern folk music) performances.
Another highlight of the lotus festival is an exhibition of paintings about lotus by popular Chinese painter Truong Han Minh.
The festival also has a tea making contest, which is open to all visitors.
