Travel firms launch discount tours to woo summer vacationers

Vietravel is selling four-day tours to destinations in the Mekong Deltafrom VND5.49 million per person, a sharp decrease of 57% over lastsummer. These tours take in Can Tho, Chau Doc and Ha Tien, or Can Tho,Soc Trang, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu.

The company is offering a four-day tour to Chu Lai, Quang Ngai and LySon Island at a price of VND5.65 million per person and another four-daytour to Danang and Hoi An cities from VND4.69 million per person, down32% and 36% respectively.

This summer, Vietrantour has launched many tours to central Vietnam andislands with prices falling by 5-10% over last summer owing tocooperation deals with local airlines. The company has attracted morethan 10,000 guests and the majority of them have booked tours to coastaldestinations.

Vietrantour’s highlights are the tours to Danang and Hue with pricesfrom VND5.49 million per person, Con Dao Island off mainland Ba Ria-VungTau Province from VND5.99 million per person and Phu Quoc Island offmainland Kien Giang Province from VND7.9 million per person.

Hanoi Red Tours has introduced discount tours to coastal areas from thenorth to the south, including Nhon Ly Beach in Binh Dinh Province, DaiLanh and Tuy Hoa in Phu Yen Province, and Ninh Chu in Ninh ThuanProvince.

As for outbound tours, Vietravel has discounted tours to the west coastof the U.S. by VND8 million to VND48.5 million per person and to the UKby VND14 million to VND49.99 million per person.

Vietravel expects such discount tours would help the company woo180,000 guests this summer, surging 30% compared to last summer.

Nguyen Thi Huyen, managing director of Vietrantour, was quoted byVietnam News Agency as saying that the company has partnered with localand foreign airlines to offer various tours with lower prices toThailand, Japan, Europe and Dubai this summer.

Hanoi Red Tours said it has diversified products this summer thanks toits partnerships with carriers including Vietnam Airlines and JetstarPacific.
